We enjoyed the Guinness museum. It would have been nice to have a headset that others had but I don't remember that being offered.

The tour guide was excellent, able to have a good laugh with the group and the detail she was able to go into when asked questions was brilliant

The tour guide Finn (I think) was fantastic. He could be an actor he was so good with selling the history and brand knowledge. The set up and interactive sets were wonderful. Not a second of being bored. Highly recommend.

+1 more

I went with my boyfriend not knowing exactly what we were expecting but it turned out to be one of the most exciting and fun things we did in our 5 days stay in Dublin! We were part of the first morning group and our ticket included not only the self guided tour and free drink on the rooftop, but also the Guinness pint with your pic printed on it. Since the beginning the staff was so nice and helpful, always willing to help you with anything and always greeting you with a smile. The tour started at the ground floor were one of the staff members briefly explained to us the tour and some fun facts and information about the establishment and once he was done explaining the self guided tour started. It was very intuitive since everything was well explained and the arrows on the floor and walls definitely helped with my orientation issues haha! The pictures, the environment, the sound and movies you were shown were stunning and absolutely made you immerse in the process of how one of the most famous beers in the world is made from scratch. We had some much fun because of how interactive was everything, from the tasting experience, where you were given a tiny sample of Guinness, to the rooftop, were you could admire not only the establishment but the whole city. This experience definitely left us with some incredible memories and we do recommend it to anyone who has the chance to visit it!

Meet your guide and begin your Guinness journey

Your experience starts at the Guinness Storehouse, where you'll check in and meet your English-speaking guide or brand ambassador. After a brief introduction, you'll begin exploring the story of Guinness, from its origins to its rise as one of the world's most recognisable beer brands.

Discover the craft behind every pint

As you move through the Storehouse, your guide will explain the ingredients, brewing process, and traditions that have shaped Guinness for more than 250 years. Through exhibits, storytelling, and interactive displays, you'll gain a deeper understanding of how the famous stout is made and why it became a symbol of Ireland.

Enjoy an expert-led tasting experience

A highlight of many guided tours is the tasting session. Learn how to identify the aromas, flavours, and characteristics of different Guinness varieties while experts share insights into pouring techniques, brewing craftsmanship, and the elements that contribute to the perfect pint.

Access exclusive spaces on select tours

Depending on the experience you choose, your tour may include access to specialist areas such as the Connoisseur Bar. These smaller, more intimate settings allow for guided tastings and deeper discussions, offering an experience that goes beyond a standard self-guided visit.

Take in the views from the Gravity Bar

Most Guinness Storehouse experiences conclude at the Gravity Bar, where you'll enjoy a complimentary Guinness, Guinness 0.0, or soft drink while admiring panoramic views across Dublin. It's the perfect place to reflect on the stories, traditions, and craftsmanship you've discovered throughout the tour.

Continue exploring at your own pace

Many guided experiences include time to revisit exhibits, browse the gift shop, or spend longer in areas that captured your interest. With a richer understanding of Guinness's history and culture, you'll be free to continue exploring the Storehouse independently after the guided portion ends.

Things to keep in mind when you go on a tour

  • Restrooms: Toilets are available throughout the Guinness Storehouse for visitor convenience across multiple floors.
  • Wheelchair layout: The entire attraction is designed to be wheelchair and stroller/pram accessible, with lifts between floors.
  • Visitor layout: The experience is structured across seven floors surrounding the central pint-shaped atrium.
  • On-site amenities: Includes visitor services such as tasting areas, retail spaces, and food & beverage outlets.
  • Valid photo ID: Carry a valid ID as it is required for age verification, especially when redeeming any included drinks.
  • Light bag: Avoid large bags and carry smaller ones for ease of movement through exhibits and interactive areas.
  • Payment method: Card payments are widely accepted across retail and food areas.
  • Large luggage: Suitcases and oversized bags may not be permitted inside the attraction.
  • Food and drink: Food and drink from outside are not allowed within the Storehouse.
  • Hazardous items: Sharp objects and dangerous materials are strictly prohibited.
  • Age restrictions: Visitors under 18 cannot purchase or consume Guinness or Guinness 0.0 and must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Alcohol policy: Alcohol service is subject to Irish licensing laws and valid ID checks.
  • Respect the experience: Visitors must follow signage and respect all interactive exhibits and installations.
  • Photography: Personal photography is generally allowed unless otherwise indicated in specific areas.
  • Self-guided flow: The main Storehouse experience is designed for independent exploration across all floors.
  • Start from the bottom and follow the story upward: The experience is designed as a narrative journey from ingredients to brewing to advertising, so following the floors in order gives the best context.
  • Don’t rush the ingredient and brewing floors: These early sections often get skipped too quickly, but they explain the flavour profile of Guinness and make the later exhibits more meaningful.
  • Time your Gravity Bar visit smartly: It can get busy near peak hours, so visiting slightly earlier or just before closing often means better views and a calmer atmosphere.
  • Use the audio guide selectively: Instead of listening continuously, pause it in interactive areas like the brewing exhibits so you can engage with the installations properly.
  • Pause in the pint-shaped atrium: It’s not just a photo spot — it helps you orient yourself between floors and understand the scale of the building.
