Things to know before booking your Teeling Whiskey Distillery tour

  • Book in advance: Distillery tours are small-group and frequently sell out, especially weekends. Online booking guarantees your slot.
  • What’s included: All tickets include a fully guided tour plus tastings. The number and type of whiskeys vary by ticket. All tours last about 60 mins, and are conducted in English. However, printed translations are available on request.
  • Age restrictions: Tastings are strictly for guests aged 18+. A non-alcoholic cocktail option is available for the Teeling Tasting Tour.
  • Flashing lights: A short video plays at the beginning of the guided tours, and this contains flashing images. Please let the staff know in advance if this will be an issue for you, and they will be happy to accommodate.
  • Sensory restrictions: The Teeling Whiskey Distillery is a fully operational distillery, which means that the factory floor can be quite loud or warm at times. This may be uncomfortable for those with sensory issues.
  • Dietary suitability: All Teeling blends are vegan-friendly and suitable for coeliacs and those with gluten intolerance.

  • Choose your tour based on your interest in flavours and rarity: The simpler tasting tour with Teeling Small Batch + cocktail gives you a solid introduction. If you enjoy exploring differences in style (grain vs malt vs pot still, or peated expressions), the Trinity or Select tasting tours are more satisfying. The Select includes distillery exclusives and rare expressions.
  • Don’t skip the distillery-exclusive bottles: If you like collecting or want something special, the gift shop often has distillery-exclusive whiskies and limited single casks.
  • Experience sensory factors on the production floor: Teeling is a working distillery: fermenters, pot stills, milling operations make it warm, sometimes loud, and full of aromatic vapours.
  • Ask the tour guide about flavour notes, wood finishes & cask influences: Because Teeling uses a variety of cask types (e.g. Blackpitts peated, various ex-wine and oak casks) and non chill-filtered whiskies, asking the guide for detailed tasting advice will deepen how much you taste.
  • Combine with other nearby whiskey-/history stops: If you’ve got time, the area around The Liberties has other whiskey or historical attractions. Pairing your visit with nearby landmarks (e.g. in the city, walking tours of old Dublin’s distilling past) gives more context to the story you’ll hear on your Teeling Whiskey Distillery tour.
